Or how the collector in me won’t budge
In part 1, I explained on why going digital has been a trend for the latest generation of consoles. Here in part 2, I’ll discuss why I don’t want to go with the flow.
Remorse. Regret. Stubbornness.
When I first got a Vita, all I wanted was to collect. I wanted to correct my mistake when I was a kid. Knowing how hard it is to get a Vita game since Sony decided that it was a mistake on their side, I stretched my budget on getting physical copies of the games. Until now, when they were able to hack the Vita, I am still stubborn to let go. I want all my games to be displayed on my rack. Even those that I won’t play, I bought it. Proving that it will be a collection that I can be proud of and will hand down to my kids when I get old.
Of course, I still want to make money on my collection via Youtube.
Then I got a PS4, Nintendo Switch and 3DS.

Most of my games are physical copies. I pride in collecting them. When there is a sale for games, I buy one even though I know that I’ll have tons of backlogs of games. I just want to see them on my shelf. And I know in the end, its the right decision. No regrets.
I am a lazy person. Sometimes, I hate replacing games inside the console just for the heck of it. That’s when digital copies becomes convenient. No need to stand up, go to the console and change the game. All installed for your pleasure.
Collection or Convenience. A debate inside me that has no clear answer. We will certainly know by the next generation what will be the trend. For now, I’ll just stare on my collection, while painfully changing a game inside my console when needed.
